Honorary Fellowship
IHIE's highest honour. Awarded by Council.
Norman Blakemore Premium Award
- For the best technical paper submitted by a member.
- The winning author receives £100 and the paper is published on www.ihie.org.uk.
- Themes for the paper may be chosen from any aspect of highways, traffic and transportation, or from the additional topics of management, publicity and training. For instance, members who have participated in some novel project on the design, construction or management side might have the basis for a paper.
- Papers must not be more than 3,000 words.
- Papers must be submitted by 1 September.
Award of Merit
- A certificate to recognise exceptional contribution and effort made by members to IHIE or to the industry.
- Nominations may be submitted from any source. Normally branch committees and Council members submit nominations.
- Only one award per year is made. If no acceptable nomination is received, no award will be made. The award is presented at the AGM.
- Nominations with CV and supporting statements to be received by 14 March.

- Reviewers nominate successful candidates whose report merits consideration
- The winner is chosen by the annual reviewers' meeting
