Becoming an IHIE member marks you out as a professional - committed to high standards of conduct and expertise.

| Fellow (FIHIE) recognises significant responsiblility and achievement. |
Open to professionals with 15 years' experience, 5 in a senior post.
Send a career summary with the Application and Subscription Forms. |
Pass the CEng or IEng Review with IHIE or another institution. Pass the Technician Review and gain 5 years' responsible experience. Look at Document E1 to see which Review is right for you. |
| Member (MIHIE) is for established practitioners with knowledge based on experience. |
Open to - practitioners with 10 years' experience, 3 in a responsible position - practitioners with a degree and 2 years' experience - IHIE Associate Members with 5 years' experience. Send a career summary with the Application and Subscription Forms. |
Pass the Technician Professional Review with IHIE or another institution. See Document ET1 for routes to EngTech. |
| Associate Member (AMIHIE) is for professionals working within the industry. |
Open to highway practitioners with 5 years' experience or with a relevant NVQ4 or NVQ3. Send a career summary with the Application and Subscription Forms. |
Graduate Member
Have a degree, HND, HNC, National Certificate or equivalent in engineering or another discipline.
Send copies of your certificates and lists of units or modules with Application and Subscription Forms. Approved qualifications can lead to EC registration.
Student Member
At college full or part time or in training
Ask your tutor or employer to countersign your application form.
